Often times we question what drives people to behave certain ways. What are the motives behind their actions? I’ve come to the conclusion that some people don’t know God. They know of him and have a pretty basic understanding of what he does. But, they lack a real understanding. They lack a real relationship. These are the people that are always miserable, upset, and cannot be genuinely happy for other people. There is no relationship with God. Lauryn Hill famously asked us, “How you gon’ win when you ain’t right within?” AND that is the truth. People can’t see the error in their ways because they don’t have a moral compass. They aren’t right within. As a spiritual person, I understand Karma. I understand that the energy you put out into the world is the same energy you will receive. Many of us haven’t elevated in the world because we aren’t contributing anything. Your energy isn’t aligned with a higher power. You expect to receive the blessings that you see those around you getting, BUT what you fail to pay attention to is their relationship with God. I will say that a relationship with God begins with the relationship you have with the world around you. What is that relationship like? How do you treat the people that love you? Are you giving and generous? Are you selfless? What motivates you? God is within all of us. Your interactions with the world around is important to the blessings you receive. Praying over your food at family gatherings is hardly a prayer. Drop to your knees in the morning and give thanks for all of the things that you have. Give back to those who have sacrificed so much for you. Give to those who have lost so much. Be a vessel. Let God use you. Then you won’t have to be angry and ask why it’s them and not you. You haven’t opened yourself up to being used. How can you win when you ain’t right within?
