Everywhere in TV, we will see friends in groups of four. The magical number seems to be four. In popular shows/movies like Girlfriends, Insecure and even Cheetah Girls, the perfect number is four. But, what I think is more important than the number is the quality of the friendships.  As we transition from our 20’s into our 30’s it is important to surround ourselves with women that are likeminded. The friendships that we built in our 20’s may not be the same group of friends we will carry into our 30’s. It is time to pay attention to where everyone is heading. Align yourself with women that are headed in the direction you see yourself going. In our 20’s we are all fumbling around to figure who and what we want to be. As our 30’s sneak up on us, it is time to start forming our magical four. For some women, it may not be four. It may just be two or one. However, like I said, what is important is to align with women who are likeminded. The quality of your friendships should elevate as your life increases. It may be time to let the friendships that remained stagnant fizzle away. Don’t be too ashamed to attach yourself to women going where you want to go. If you plan to be boss babe, it is time to hang out with other boss babes. Hanging with old friends that are not on that path is very counterproductive. Like Drake said, “we walk the same path, but got on different shoes”. Your new circle may not all be in the same industry, but the goal is ultimately the same. Be a Boss Babe!

It is time to take inventory and make room. It’s okay to want something new and something better. Those that respect where you are going will understand and support you. Be around who you want to be.
