Gut Instincts

Trust your gut. As simple as that sounds, people are going to try to confuse you, manipulate you, and make you doubt yourself. Along your journey, there are going to be situations that make you question what it is that you really want. It could be coming from peers or parents. It happens to many of us because people have created a version of you in their mind. This post is meant to inform you or remind you that you are not responsible for the version that people have created of you. It really sucks to say that, but you are not. The only person that you are responsible to please is yourself and your higher power. Whatever name you call him by. (I call him, Jesus) That is one of your main responsibilities in this life. Make sure that you lead a life that pleases YOU. Do not get caught up in what everyone else expects of you. That kind of pressure can tear you done. It break you down emotionally, mentally and physically. Stressing out about what someone may want from you is an unnecessary stress. Listen to your GUT. Trust your self and Jesus. He will never fail you or steer you wrong.

But, how do we listen to our gut instincts? It does not happen over night. It takes practice. We have to learn how to separate our ego of our own wants and listen to what feels authentic to us. That means that you have to cut out the noise. For example, if you are coming to a fork in the road in life and you don’t know which way to go it may be time to weigh your options. This activity will require just your own opinion. You don’t need to seek advice from any other person when it comes down to making the decision. Your own mind, heart and spirituality will lead you the way. Opinions and advice will distract you from what your gut is telling you. Although, people may mean well, your best life decisions will come from you and your spirit.
