Be who you say you are. I am slowly learning that. For a long time, I thought that I had
to obtain certain things in life to be the woman who I envisioned for myself, but that’s a lie. You have to be who you want to be even when you don’t have it all. Nothing is worse than assuming you need to have certain things for your life to be in order. ANALOGY TIME: In a perfect world, you have all the pieces to the puzzle to make for a great picture. But we don’t live in a perfect world and shit happens. We have to be able to deal with that. Sometimes our puzzles are going to take some time to develop and even then some pieces may always be missing.
That doesn’t mean we should leave it on the shelf to collect dust. We have to start putting the pieces together because we may just realize that we had the pieces all along. Sometimes, some pieces are swept under the rug, some are left on the shelf, or they got put into another box by mistake. Whatever happened, we had all the pieces to begin with. That’s the lesson that I am learning. I cannot wait to accumulate all the pieces, I have to start building the puzzle now. My puzzle is 500 pieces and I’m forever starting on one corner and then getting frustrated and starting on the just the border. Sometimes, I completely give up and walk away from the puzzle. HOWEVER, in doing that I have to look at the overall puzzle and reflect on what’s in front of me. What can I do so that I am successful in putting this together? Be who you say you are. Whatever it is that you want to be or how you want to be.. BE THAT. Don’t wait for all the pieces because you may be waiting forever.
